Heat transfer analysis of high pressure hydrogen tank fillings

Fast fillings of hydrogen vehicles require proper control the temperature to ensure integrity storage tanks. This study presents an analysis heat transfer during filling a tank. A conjugate based on energy balance is introduced. The numerical model validated against fast experiments in Type IV tank by comparing gas evolution. impact parameters, such as initial temperature, inlet nozzle diameter and time then assessed. For considered tank, results show that both higher lower shell thermal conductivity inner wall peak temperatures. presented provides analytical description evolution shell, thus useful tool explore broad range e.g., determine new protocols.
